Father, son and employees robbed

At least four male suspects wearing balaclavas are said to have been attackers, who were heavily armed.

VANDERBIJLPARK. – Police are investigating a case of armed robbery and attempted murder. This comes after a vehicle driver and his father were shot and robbed on their way to drop off their workers.
It is said that the driver pulled off to let off other passengers, when suddenly the suspects came out from the dark. The vehicle occupants were confronted with a hail of bullets.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Gertrude Makhale said the incident happened on the R553 at the T – junction of Mandela drive and Parys road (SPCA) on 30 June at around 18:30. Police confirmed that the victims vehicle was shot at while dropping off their employees. At least four male suspects wearing balaclavas are said to have been attackers, who were heavily armed.

” They shot at the direction of the victim and injured a passenger,” said Makhale.
Makhale further said  that the suspects then robbed the victims of cash, laptop and cellphones and fled the scene driving in a white Audi-A4. The victimwas later taken to the hospital.
Police appeall to the community to come forward with information that may lead to the arrest of the suspects.
