VANDERBIJLPARK.- The municipality is still experiencing a set back with the delivery of the 20 MVA replacement transformer. This is due to ceaseless closure of parts of the M2 highway on Tuesday, 13 July 2021.
According to the municipality the transformer service provider is yet to confirm with the municipality whether the delivery will be possible on Wednesday.
Since the last update, the municipality jointly with the service provider have done the following work towards restoring power supply:
• Testing of 88 kV Circuit Breakers – The Breakers have passed some of the tests. Further testing will be conducted tomorrow.
• Testing of 88kV Current Transformers (CTs) – Two (2) of the three (3) CTs have passed the tests and one (1) has to be replaced. Technicians will be replacing all three (3) CTs tomorrow.
More repair work is in progress. The estimated time of restoration will be communicated immediately after the transformer is delivered at the substation.
