Robbery suspects bakkie crash into shack

Suspected stolen property from a business robbery was discovered in the bakkie.

BOPHELONG.- The Sedibeng District Police Task Team recently followed up a tip-off about  suspects roaming around The Barrage area.

The suspects were spotted driving a black Nissan NP200 on R553 on 3 August around 12.00. Police said that when the driver saw the police, he tried to speed up taking the Mandela road, the suspects sped until they lost control of the vehicle and crashed it into a shack in Muvhango Ext 12. Police Spokesperson, Sergeant Gertrude Makhale said that the police make a u- turn, and followed the bakkie.

“The suspects pulled out from the vehicle and pointed police with firearms. The police reacted to this threat and both suspects sustained injuries due to gun shot wounds before they were arrested. They were both hospitalized under police guard.”

Suspected stolen property from a business robbery was discovered in the bakkie.

Makhale said the bakkie was discovered that it has since been reported hijacked.
