A notorious gunman's reign of terror came to an end last week when he was found shot and killed.

BOIPATONG. – A notorious gunman’s reign of terror came to an end last week when he was found shot and killed on Delfos Road near Eskom substation.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Thembeka Maxambela reports that police were called to the scene  on Thursday afternoon and on their arrival found a body of an African male between the ages of 29 and 30.

“The man was shot on the lower part of his body and on the back. Next to him was a 38 special firearm with one live ammunition and one used cartridge.

“Upon further investigation it was found out that the firearm was stolen in 2006 at Beyswater in Bloemfontein.”

Police believe that the deceased is a Lesotho national  who resided in Soweto . Maxambela says the man is believed to be the the gunman who has been terrorizing residents of Sedibeng District.

The gunman operated  in open velds next to  Frikkie Meyer Boulevard, Delfos, Winniepark and Miami sands including the power station. He also targeted victims walking through cemeteries.

“Anyone with informatin that might lead to the arrest of suspect/suspects can contact the investigating Officer Zanele Mafa on 082 778 7937.”
