SDM takes vaccine drive to learners and townships

The SDM said that the  COVID-19 vaccination drive is a joint effort between government, civil society organizations and other stakeholders to ensure equitable access to vaccine in Sedibeng region.

SEDIBENG.- The Sedibeng District Municipality (SDM) Executive Mayor,  Lerato Maloka, Emfuleni Local Municipality (ELM) Executive Mayor,  Gift Moerane, MMCs together with Councillors recently oversaw COVID-19 vaccination of learners at Tokelo Secondary School and the townships in ELM, Eatonside and nearby areas in Sebokeng.

The SDM said that the  COVID-19 vaccination drive is a joint effort between government, civil society organizations and other stakeholders to ensure equitable access to vaccine in Sedibeng region.

“The Executive Mayor’s delegates together with Gauteng Premier David Makhura and MECs for Health, Community Safety and Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation, Dr Nomathemba Mokgethi, Faith Mazibuko and Mbali respectively will conduct door to door visits in Eatonside and nearby areas in Sebokeng to encourage all 18 year old’s and above persons to get jabbed.”

All 18-year-olds and above are encouraged to come out in numbers to use the Eatonside Health Post Pop up site.  All Sedibeng District public vaccination sites accept walk-ins whether people are registered on the EVDS or not.
