The man was found guilty on a case of murder he committed in 2018.

SEBOKENG.- The Sebokeng Magistrate Court recently sentenced Gordon Ramokgodi  to 10 years imprisonment for murder and declared him unfit to possess a firearm.

Evaton Police Spokesperson,  Constable Thulisile Msibi said that Ramokgodi was found guilty on a case of murder he committed in 2018. “Ramokgodi and the deceased were sitting and drinking alcohol in Evaton west, when one of their friend arrived with a lunch box.  Ramokgodi tried to take it however the deceased stopped him.

That’s where Ramokgodi started fighting with the deceased and later went to his place to fetch a knife and stabbed the deceased in the neck multiple times.”

Evaton Police Station Commander, Brigadier Sibuyi, congratulated the investigating officer, Sergeant Bheki Mkhonza who after taking over the investigation remained focused, and collected all necessary evidence that led to the successful conviction and sentencing of the accused.

“The sentence today will send a strong message to other criminals who think they can murder anyone and get away with it. I encourage our members to continue to prioritise the investigation of cases against women, children and other vulnerable groups.”
