Motorists be warned of spikes and rocks placed on the roads

"The motorists better drive to the nearest garage or a place where they will get assisted."

VANDERBIJLPARK. – The South African Police Service (SAPS) is investigating several cases of aggravated robbery where victims stumble over  stones or rocks on busy roads.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Gertrude Makhale said part of the modus operandi took place on the Playfair Boulevard near Isaak Steyl Stadium, Barrage Road and in Andries Potgieter Street  in SE 7, Vanderbijlpark area recently

” At the time the motorists stops and goes to check the conditions of the car, suddenly robbers will show up from nowhere pointing the victim with a firearm. The victims  are robbed off their belongings like cellphones, cash, laptops and car radios.

Makhale warned that the community should not stop immediately after stumbling over stones or at suspicious objects.
