‘AK 47’ to host boxing tournament

"This tournament is part of the sports development, with a primary goal of grooming young boxers from an early age."

SEBOKENG.- Sebokeng Boxing Organisation in partnership with Beg Boxing Organisation will be hosting an amateur boxing tournament behind the Zone 15 Shops in Sebokeng on Saturday.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, former boxing legend Aaron “AK 47” Kabi said that the day’s programme will start with the weigh-in of boxers at 8:00am. Kabi said that this tournament is part of the sports development, with a primary goal of grooming young boxers from an early age. Kabi expressed the need to start training these young boxers early, instead of waiting until they are older to start boxing.

“Look, in the past some of us started to box at old age but now we want to change that to introduce these young boxers to the sport at a very young age. The development of any athlete must start at a young age and this is exactly what we want to achieve with these future boxing champions,” said Kabi.

He further added that all the clubs and boxers are invited to be part of this development tournament. Kabi said they will observe all the Covid-19 regulations and health protocols.
