KLIPRIVIER. – Sedibeng District Commissioner Major General Zodwa Molefe recently led the destruction of over R450 000 worth of liquor.

The destruction took place at the KLIPRIVIER Police Station where SAPS Management attended together with members.
The liquor destructed comprised of varieties of beer, ciders, gin and whiskey.
Molefe said that the destruction was that of liquor seized by police from places operating illegally, without valid liquor trading licenses.
“There are many places that police go to during operations and find members of the community trading without licenses. This is against the law.”
Those with licenses must also ensure the safety of their clients and also hire car guards to ensue the safety of their cars.
“They should have responsibility to operate within the guidelines of the law.
” This should serve as proof that our members don’t seize the liquor for their own consumption.”
Molefe urged those without licenses to allow those who are compliant to run their businesses accordingly.
