Road to Qatar comes to an end for Bafana

"The replay doesn’t show that there was a push inside the box."

SEDIBENG.- The road to Qatar 2021 FIFA World Cup has come to an end for Bafana Bafana after they lost through a controversial penalty against Ghana in their qualifier match in Ghana over the weekend.

Bafana Bafana needed a draw to proceed to the next round, but the South African’s hope were shattered by the Senegal’s referee who gave Ghana what many believe to be a controversial penalty. The referee penalised a Bafana Bafana defender for ‘pushing ‘Ghana’s  attacker inside the penalty box.

The replay doesn’t show that there was a push inside the box despite the referee giving the penalty which decided the outcome of the game, 1-0.

The South African soccer fans immediately took their frustration to the social media and said that their country was robbed of a chance to go to Qatar, they felt hard done by the match official on the day. This young Bafana Bafana team put up a brave fight in front of Ghana’s fans who came in numbers to support their national team.

Despite Bafana Bafana failure to qualify for the Qatar World Cup, South African’s fans were full praise of the coach, Hugo Broos, for believing in  unknown players
