Saturday fitness craze grows in Boipatong

“The inspiration started when I saw other areas being busy."

BOIPATONG – Fun filled the streets when Boipatong Social and Aerobics Club hosted a 5km Run/Aerobics at Boipatong Stadium on October 17.

Participants, young and old, wore black and white sportswear as part of the theme. Mongezi Ntombolwana, founder of the club, hailed the fun run as a great success.

He told Sedibeng Ster Sport that the initiative is to encourage fitness and a healthy lifestyle in the community, young and old.

He said it is important for the community to take care of their fitness, especially their healthy lifestyle. The Boipatong Social and Aerobics Club was established on August 22 to promote fitness and a healthy lifestyle. He said when they started, they were less than 30 participants but now the club has grown.

Ntombolwana said his main goal is to grow and become a well-known movement that inspires the youth and promotes a healthy environment and lifestyle.

He told Sedibeng Ster Sport that the club attracts more participants every Saturday.

“We attracted more participants, and now we have reached 100 marks within two months.”

Ntombolwane said what motivated him most was when participants from other areas came in numbers to be part of these Saturday morning sessions.

“The inspiration started when I saw other areas being busy; I had to make sure that it accommodates people who can’t travel to other areas. I’m excited about this initiative, especially the support I receive from the community. Saturday mornings are no longer the same for the Boipatong community. I invited the whole community to come and make this project bigger and better,” he concluded.
