SEDIBENG.-  Miss South Africa, Lalela Mswane has been crowned Miss Universe second runner up at an event that was held in Israel yesterday.

Mswane (24) went to Israel to represent South Africa on the international stage without the support of the South African government which had called for her event in solidarity with Palestine.

The Department of Sports, Arts and Culture subsequently withdrew its support for the Miss South Africa Organisation. India’s Harnaaz Sandhu took home the crown at the 70th edition of Miss Universe.
