Sebokeng residents march to Eskom in demand of electricity

The community, which has been without electricity for months marched to the Sebokeng  Eskom office where they handed in a memorandum of grievances.

SEBOKENG. – The community of Zone 13 and 24 braved the rain and cold weather this morning and took to the streets in demand of the restoration of electricity.

The community, which has been without electricity for more than a year marched to the Sebokeng  Eskom office where they handed in a memorandum of grievances.

Presenting the memorandum, Ward 32  Councillor Kgatle Liutlwileng stated that Eskom employees were taking too long to respond to complaints made by members of the community.

“This happens even when they are given reference numbers. The  transformer in Zone 24 was reported in 2019 and is still a problemto date.”

Liutlwileng said they had previously shared their frustrations with Eskom official Dan Raditsela who was not available to receive the memorandum today.

Raditsela requested one of his officers,  known only as Makari to received and sign the documents. Makari promised to submit the complaints to the relevant department.

The community has given the power utility seven working days to come with positive answers.
