Businesswoman hosts development tournament for community teams
“I want to plough back into the community because I know what it is like to grow up in a difficult environment."

BOPHELONG.- Mantombi Gusha is a businesswoman with vision to plough black to her community through sports. Gusha will be hosting a development soccer tournament for the u/15 and u/17 scheduled to take place at Yizo Yizo ground from February 12-13. This top Eight Knockout Tournament will be known as Gushadee Development Tournament.
Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Gusha said that growing up in a difficult background has motivated her to organise this initiative to help football teams from disadvantaged communities. She told Sedibeng Ster Sport that she is concerned about the well being of young players from Bophelong/Muvhango to realise their football dreams through this tournament.
“I want to plough back into the community because I know what it is like to grow up in a difficult environment. I personally come from a disadvantaged background, and I want to help as much as I can for these youngsters to realise their football dreams. My upbringing was not easy and my parents taught me the spirit of giving and sharing that is why I share the little that I have with my community. I want to help as much as I can to uplift the community that I’m living in, especially young people through sports,” she said.
The winners will receive a soccer kit, five soccer balls, medals and a floating trophy while the runner ups will also receive a soccer kit, two soccer balls and medals. To make it interesting, Gusha said that the finalists will be provided with food on the day.
* Gusha’s company, Gushadee, will be sponsoring this tournament.
