Sedibeng football will never the same again if we put the relevant people with passion to run our football. What happened demonstrated the unity among the development coaches and managers putting their differences and egos aside for the sake of the development of football in this region when they hosted Mamelodi Sundowns development over the weekend.
It was a great weekend of football with parents coming with camp chairs to spend the whole Saturday watching their children playing against the yellow nation as Mamelodi Sundowns is effectionately known in South African football.
This program is a first of its kind to bring the whole PSL academy to Vaal to play against the selected quads and give youngsters an opportunity to test their God given talents against one of the best development clubs in the continent. These games were part of bringing unity in Sedibeng football between players, coaches, managers/football administrators.
It is high time that we preach unity in our football regardless of our differences as coaches and football administrators. This kind of program must be encouraged and sustained for the sake of our development. The biggest challenge with ootball is to stay together, to grow together and win together – this are our biggest challenges. It is high time Sedibeng football coaches and football administrators work together to revive our football.
The truth is that some of us are getting old and we must leave the legacy to generations to come to follow. This thing of fighting among ourselves is not going to help the development of our football in this region.
TOUCHLINE wants to applaud the Boitshepivile coaches and managers for working together and making this occassion a success in support of NWU Vaal. It was a great advert of Sedibeng football. Football is not about elections or positions; it is more than that and if there is anyone who is in football for positions then you’re in the wrong place.
There are poor development coaches who are not paid to develop boys and girls in our communities. They are drive by passion more than anything else, football is their life, their passion.
