Learners throw out dangerous weapons as police search bags

The operation that lasted for hours saw the law enforcement agencies searching all the school bags of the learners outside the classrooms.

BOPHELONG. – The Station Commander of Vanderbijlpark Police, Brigadier Nikiwe Hoaeane accompanied by her Visible Police Commander Colonel Van Wyk made a random search at the Dr Molefi Oliphant Secondary School in Extension 9, Bophelong recently.

The operation that lasted for hours saw the law enforcement agencies searching all the school bags of the learners outside the classrooms. Peter Kele, Head of the Sedibeng Crime Prevention said that together with Sedibeng District Community Safety Forum they joined the police to ensure that schools are safer and better teaching environments for learning. Three knives and packets of dagga were found thrown on the ground.
