ELFA Super League games cancelled due to heavy rains
The games that were cancelled over the weekend will play at Isak Steyl and Shakespear Stadiums respectively, on Thursday.

SEDIBENG.- The much anticipated Emfuleni Local Football Association’s (ELFA) Super League matches were postponed due to the heavy rains over the weekend. All the games from four streams, Sebokeng, Evaton, Boitshepiville and Vanderbijlpark were cancelled on Sunday morning due to waterlogged fields. These much anticipated league matches were supposed to take place at Bophelong Stadium, Saul Tsotetsi Sports Complex in Zone 14, Sebokeng George Thabe Stadium, in Sharpeville and Shakespeare Stadium in Vanderbijlpark respectively. There was water all over the fields especially at Bophelong and Saul Tsotetsi Sports Complex which forced the Competitions Convener, Oupa Tladinyane to call off all the games as the fields were unplayable.
However, there was confusion for the Boitshepiville Stream as to the availability of the venue, George Thabe Stadium because when the teams arrived the venue was locked and the teams were told the venue was not booked for their matches.
It was frustrating for the teams especially for the Vanderbijlpark Stream which is behind with their schedule as the league is expected to come to a conclusion in May. According to Tladinyane other three streams will finish their league schedule on time except the Vanderbijlpark Stream, however, some of the games will be played in midweek. The games that were cancelled over the weekend will play at Isak Steyl and Shakespear Stadiums respectively, on Thursday.
“I’m worried wabout the Vanderbijlpark Stream because they are behind with their schedule, but we have no choice, some of the outstanding games will be plaed during the week,” he said. Meanwhile, Tladinyane revealed to Sedibeng Ster Sport that he wants to organise a tournament at the end of the season and this will help the teams that won the league in terms of preparations for the play-offs
