MEYERTON.- Ayanda Nhlapo (18) is among the hockey players who have been selected for the Elsie Coetzer Hockey School (ECHS) Invitational Tour in Netherlands in October. However, this youngster from the Midvaal Development Hockey Club in Sicelo township needs financial assistance to make his dream true.
The tournament expenses include the flight, accommodation and food estimated to be R 55 000. Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Midvaal Development Hockey Club Founder, Malisa Nhlapo pleaded with the Sedibeng community especially the Meyerton community to come to the rescue of this youngster to make his dream a reality. Nhlapho told Sedibeng Ster Sport that this is a lifetime opportunity for the youngster and he can’t afford to be passed by this opportunity.

“We know that we all come from the backgrounds where our development of sport doesn’t have sponsorship or income. We always run our projects from our own pockets to see that sports is being play in our communities. This is a sad reality about the development of sport in general within our communities. I making a humble plea to the Sedibeng community especially businesses and companies to come on board to help this young man for this tour scheduled for Netherlands in October. As the Midvaal Development Hockey Club we will try everything in our power to help to raise funds for Ayanda,” said Nhlapho.
