SEDIBENG.- It will be a test of character for Banyana Banyana when they face Netherlands in an international friendly match on 12 April.
This is in preparation for the 2022 African Women’s Cup Of Nation in Morocco in July.
Banyana Banyana, Coach Desiree Ellis, has named a strong squad with Mamelodi Sundowns ladies occupying the majority of the squad positions for obvious reasons. Sundowns’ players are experienced after winning the African Queens Women’s Championship.
They will therefore be key for Banyana Banyana especially against one of the strongest teams in women’s football.
Ellis said that this game is crucial for Banyana Banyana in a sense that it will test her players’ mental strength against strong opponents.
To be the best, she believes you need to play against the best, and Netherlands is one of the strongest opponents she wishes to play against. Ellis predicted a tough outing for her team but said that they would be ready for the Netherlands on Tuesday.
