VANDERBIJLPARK.- Despite finishing at the bottom of Gauteng ABC Motsepe League’s Stream A, NWU Vaal FC is safe for now. Sedibeng Ster Sport has learned that NWU Vaal FC will play relegations play-offs with a team that finishes at the bottom of Stream B to decide which team will remain in ABC Motsepe League next season. NWU Vaal FC was supposed to be automatically relegated to the lower league, SAB League by virtue of finishing at the bottom of the log. However, they will get a second chance when they will be playing in the relegation play-offs. This was revealed to Sedibeng Ster Sport by one of the SAFA Province officials who said the two teams that finished at the bottom of the log will play relegation play-offs. He also told Sedibeng Ster Sport that, in case Jomo Cosmos gets relegated from GladAfrica Champions at the end of the season, this will also affect the number of the teams that must be relegated to lower league. As if this is not enough, in case there will be no team getting promoted to the GladAfrica, again this will affect the number of the teams to be relegated.

“Look for now, no club has been relegated because both the teams at the bottom of these two streams  must play in the play-offs. Again, we have the situation of promotion and relegation from the top league. For example, things will change if Jomo Cosmos gets relegated. Like I said, for now there is no team that has been relegated to the lower league,” he told Sedibeng Ster Sport.
