Medics assessed the scene and found that the driver and the front seat passenger, both adult females, showed no signs of life and were sadly declared deceased on the scene. A third passenger, also an adult female who was sitting in the back, had sustained serious injuries and was treated on scene by a Netcare 911 emergency care practitioner.

Once stabilised, the lady was transported to hospital for further care. The taxi driver, also the only occupant, had sustained moderate injuries and was treated and transported by Gauteng Provincial Government ambulance to hospital. Circumstances leading up to the event will be investigated by the relevant authorities who were on scene.
