Armed men attack Father Ngondo at his home

The police in Meyerton have launched an investigation following the brutal attack on a Roman Catholic priest, Father Jordan Ngondo, at his home in Meyerton recently.

MEYERTON. – Ngondo was ambushed by about four armed men who forced entry into his home, assaulted him and seized property.

Speaking to  Sedibeng Ster, Ngondo said the suspects were armed with rifles and hand guns which they used to assault him.

“I was instructed to lie on the floor while the suspects raided my house for valuables.

“They managed to take a Sansui home theatre, a Sansui plasma unit, a black Canon printer, two video cameras and an i Pad.

“One of the suspects also threw my cellphone against the wall and took the SIM out.”

Following the incident, Ngondo had to receive medical attention for injuries he sustained during the attack.

Ngondo says when he tried to explain to the suspects that he is a priest, they did not listen but further took his church garments and his mass kit.

Ngondo is asking the community to assist him with information about persons who try to sell any of the above items.

Police spokesperson, Constable Thulisile Msibi, confirmed that a case of housebreaking is being investigated by the police.

“Anyone with information that can assist the police in their investigation, can contact the investigating officer, w/o Mofokeng on 082 778 9389 or the Meyerton Police on (016) 360 4722.”
