Hundreds of suspects leave courts having a field day

Hundreds of suspects arrested during an installation of Gauteng’s Operation Okae Molao left different courts in the region having a field day.

VANDERBIJLPARK – This is after a total number of 372 suspects were arrested across the Sedibeng District policing precinct on various crimes recently.

According to police spokesman Seargent Shaan Motsapi, an intensified concerted effort by the police and other law enforcement agencies collaborating in fighting against crime yielded satisfying results during the operation.

“The arrests were achieved by different stations in the Sedibeng District. Suspects arrested were apprehended for different crimes including illegal mining, drunk driving, sexual assault, the amongst many other crimes,” he said.

Shaan said the arrests were a proof that crime committers are being brought to book.

“There is no place for crime committers in our area. Our police are working tirelessly in making sure that unruliness is curbed,” he said.

Motsapi said all suspects expected to appear before the Sebokeng, Vanderbijlpark and Vereeniging, Meyerton Magistrates Court’s for the crimes they had committed.
