Tributes pour in for AKA following driveby shooting in Durban

Multi-award-winning musician, real name Kiernan Forbes, popularly known as AKA was shot and killed in Durban on Friday, February 10.

NATIONAL – Details of his murder remain sketchy, however, reports say AKA was accosted by two heavily armed men who shot him several times in what is said to be a hit.

AKA was in the midst of his security detail when he was shot, however one of his bodyguards, was also murdered during the brazen murder.
Speaking to the media on the scene of crime, police spokesperson Colonel Robert Netshiunda said ” what we can confirm for now is that a 35-year-old well known musician and his bodyguards (34) were shot and killed in morning side, Florida road on Friday night. What we hear for now is that the musician and his security detail were having super. As they were leaving the restaurant to their vehicle, two unknown men came across the street on foot and opened fire on them”.
Netshiunda said nobody else was injured apart from AKA and one of his bodyguard.
“It is early stages, however we will be investigating two counts of murder, with the hope of finding the culprits and bring them to justice,” he said.
