‘Don’t Do Crime’ games coming

SEBOKENG.- All roads will lead to the Bright Stars FC ground next to Engen Garage in Zone 7 for the ‘Don’t Do Crime’ Soccer Tournament tomorrow Saturday, and Sunday.

This Ward 37 tournament will start with a “Let’s Walk Against Crime” walk from Masekeng to Bright Stars FC’s ground where the teams will be battling for the semi and finals on Sunday. Some of the notable names expected to attend this initiative include ELM MMC of Finance, Councillor Hassan Mako who is one of the well-known businessmen in the Sedibeng community, and other community leaders.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Themba “Thoto” Zwelibanzi who is the event organizer said the aim of the tournament is to address crime in the community. The tournament started with the Top 16 Knockout with the finals scheduled to take place on Sunday.


“I believe football has a huge role to play in the community especially to fight crime and drugs in our society. We expect some community and government leaders to attend this initiative to support this initiative. We intend to host this tournament annually and we invite potential sponsorships to come on board to make it bigger and better,” he said.
