SEDIBENG.- It seems as if everything that Pitso Mosimane touches turns into gold.
This follows after he writes another African football history when his side Al Ahli went to the top Saudi Arabia top league. No doubt, Mosimane will go down in the history of African football as one of the best coaches to have emerged in the African continent.
After he left Al Ahly which he led twice in the CAF League Champions he joined the Saudi Arabian team and turned the team into a force to be reckoned with in the African continental in a short space of time.
This is the same Mosimane who turned Mamelodi Sundowns into an African football giant after he conquered the domestic league. His departure to Sundowns came as a shock to many in the football fraternity before he joined the Egyptian giant’s, Al Ahly. His move to Al Ahly came as history as the first South African to be offered a coaching job outside South Africa.
His former teammate and now working together with him at his school project, Augustine “Mthakathi” Makalakalane said Mosimane showed his potential as a player and that he was going to be a great coach one day.
“I played with Pitso and I know what he is capable of since his playing days at Jomo Cosmos and also Bafana Bafana. He was always eager to learn and you could tell that he was a step ahead of the rest as a player. I have no doubt. He is one of us and we must celebrate his success without any doubts. I played and work with Coach Pitso and he is such a great human being to work with,” said Makalakalane.
