VANDERBIJLPARK – South African Police Service’s traditional multi-disciplinary operation, Okae Molao, saw over 21 stolen livestock recovered.

This is not the only success yielded by the dozens of different law enforcers who held a random stop and search roadblock on R57 road in Vanderbijlpark.

About 37 illegal immigrants we also arrested and three illegal shebeens were closed for selling liquor without a license, fines issued, and drugs confiscated.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, Sedibeng District cluster spokesperson Constable Doris Nkosi said more successes were made and suspects will appear in court soon.

“When our officers were conducting a random stop and search, they intercepted a van with a stolen flock of sheep. On the scene, 19 sheep were recovered. Failing to produce proof, the suspect was taken to a plot where two sheep were found, one slaughtered,” she said.

Drugs confisticated during operation Okae Molao.

“These are not the only successes we made during the operation, more than 19 traffic fines were issued, valued at R11,100. We also detained 37 illegal immigrants. Three illegal shebeens were closed for selling liquor without a license, six J534 fines were issued to persons buying and selling second-hand goods for failing to keep the registry,” she said.

Nkosi said eight suspects were also arrested for possession of 117-star mandrax drugs, 51ziplocks crystal myth, and five mandrax.
