SEDIBENG.- The well-traveled and up-and-coming female football administrator, Potso Mohami is in Turkey with Banyana Banyana.
The South African women’s national team is participating in the Turkish Women’s Cup that is underway.
This Bophelong-born lady has been all over the world, either representing SAFA at the CAF Women’s Club Championships as a General Manager of the tournaments. She has proved to be one of the best up-and-coming female football administrators to have come out of the Vaal to date.
In the past, this region had female administrators such as Grace Tshabalala-Radebe who also hoisted the Vaal flag high in the women’s international tournaments. Beauty Molise who is Safa Sedibeng Regional CEO is another female football administrator who is destined to become a household name in South African football.
Mohami started to work at SAFA at a young age doing an internship when Dr Molefi Oliphant was still SAFA President. She was one of the youngest female administrators when South Africa hosted a successful FIFA World Cup in 2010. This will remain the highlight of her short football career as an administrator. Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Mohami said that she is grateful for this opportunity to represent not only SAFA but the country at the highest level of football.
“I want to thank the SAFA leadership for believing in me, especially my potential to represent the organization at CAF Women Club Championships,” she said.
