VANDERBIJLPARK.- Sedibeng Tennis hosted a successful Tennis Tournament at Quest Conference Estate in Vanderbijlpark over the weekend.
This one-day tennis tournament was sponsored by Time Change Security as part of giving back to the community. The tournament was divided into men’s and ladies doubles, and juniors and there were also coaching clinics conducted by veteran, Jonny Makgalemele as part of the day’s program. The tournament was attended by boys and girls from as far as Meyerton.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Sedibeng Tennis Chairperson, Malusi Mabusela said the main purpose of the tournament was to promote tennis in the community. He said the tournament is not necessarily about winning but that it was a social event as well.
“The aim is to promote tennis and take it to our communities and we will visit other areas to promote this sport. I must say, I’m happy with the attendance and this shows how much this project means to the development of tennis,” said Mabusela.

His sentiments were echoed by Makgalemele who is passionate about the development of the sport. He told Sedibeng Ster Sport that it is important to start developing these young people at a young age. “
“These kids enjoy every moment of what they are learning here and it is important to teach them the basics of tennis, I mean everything,” he concluded.
Time Change Security General Manager, Live Sukhessan said that their commitment is to plow back to the community. He said they have been involved in several projects in the community and this coming weekend they will be sponsoring a soccer tournament in Sharpeville.
