SEDIBENG – In its glory days, Stjwatla Malapa was known to be one vibey guitar (tavern) in Sebokeng, until it was shut down.
Many moons later, the popular nightlife joint has made its return, not only in a new spot but crazier than ever before.
Best known to be attended by stylish non-sleepiest night lovers, who always dressed in lavishing expensive Italian brands, and flossing expensive cognac bottles, the newly relaunched lounge is bringing new ways to woo its old audience.
With just two weeks since its reopening at the old Soul Cafe in Zone 6 under the partnership of its previous owner and Mshepepe, the revamped 2.0 is planning a weekend of a lifetime.

This after, the new manager Mshepepe Wase Vaal declared a cider to be sold at the joint, at R1 from 7-8 pm.
Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, Mshepepe Kambule better known as the Vaal President said the idea is a robust marketing strategy aimed at drawing patrons and introducing the place.
“Soul Café has not been operating for years now and having moved to this joint means one has to work on ways to reintroduce the place. The idea of R1 beer is just another idea just like booking giant names in the music industry. If you don’t have enough money to book artists like Maphorisa who goes for R60 000 to play at your joint, there should be another way to do it, and this R1 beer is that vigorous alternative,” he said.
Mshepepe said the idea growing as many people talk about it rather than Thabo Bester, who has been trending for days now.
“People are talking about the much-anticipated R1 beer weekend. No one is talking about Bester, all I see is R1 on all social platforms and it’s working for what I wanted it to look like,” he said.
Asked if he will be able to accommodate all the patrons set to grace the event, Mshepepe said he had never disappointed his people before.
“I’ve held events where I gave close to 300 ladies free beers for hours before, why would I fail now? This is not the first time I’m putting this idea to a test. I am fully prepared for the madness of purchase that will happen this weekend. No matter what number is coming through, it will surely be served until they drop,” he said.
The flamboyant Italian fashion fanatic said he will be donating school shoes to the less fortunate after the big weekend.
“I am raised by a village (community) and giving back is one thing closest to my heart. After this massively planned event, I will be going back to the community to donate school shoes,” he said.
