Midvaal Local Municipality (MLM) has recently been awarded prestigious awards at the South African Local Government Association (SALGA) Municipal Awards.
The SALGA Awards ceremony is an annual celebration aimed at recognizing the achievements of local governments and individuals in the sector.
Midvaal received awards for a Clean Audit Opinion for the 2021/22 Financial Year, Award as a Winner for Improved, Revenue Collection, and Debt Management for the 2021/22 Financial Year, and Award as a First Runner-Up for Good Record Keeping for the 2021/22 Financial Year.
Speaking about the awards, MLM Mayor Peter Teixeira said the awards serve as a testament to Midvaal’s commitment to being a well-governed, effectively managed, financially viable, and sustainable institution.
Teixeira said: “Our dedicated staff members and public representatives deserve all the credit for these awards as it is a direct result of their diligent efforts and hard work. Without their commitment and dedication, such achievements would not have been possible.
“Midvaal’s priority has always been to improve the lives of our residents by providing excellent service delivery, and we are thrilled that our efforts have been recognized by SALGA. We will continue to serve our community with excellence, ensuring that we maintain our good track record of clean governance.”
