SEDIBENG.- Sine Dlamini (10) has been selected for Joburg Junior Squash Team set to represent Gauteng at the Annual Inter-Provincial U/13 Tournament scheduled in East London from 24-28 June.
However, for this Pindene Primary School Grade 4 learner, to be part of the Gauteng team she must raise an amount of R10 000 for entry fees, accommodation transport, and medals with minimal pocket money as well. This was revealed to Sedibeng Ster Sport by Vaal Triangle Squad Coach, Hero Dlamini who pleaded to the Sedibeng community to come on board to assist this young girl to make her dream come true.
Dlamini told Sedibeng Ster Sport that Sine’s future looks bright and that she is destined to become a household name in Squash. He also pleaded with the Sedibeng business people and companies to come on board to help this talented young girl.
“As Vaal Triangle Squash we plead to the Good Samaritans to join hands together and help us to raise R10 000 for Sine. It is every child’s dream to compete at this level and it will be very sad if she can’t go just because of money. She is still young and this will break her if she doesn’t go to this Inter-Provincial Tournament.
“She is too young to understand and she is excited that she has been selected to be part of Gauteng Squash Team. We spend sleepless nights to see how best we can help together with her parents and I must say, Sedibeng people are our hope to help. As Vaal Triangle Squash we will really appreciate the little that you can contribute,” he concluded.
