SEDIBENG.- No Kaizer Chiefs players have been selected in the 32 preliminary squad Bafana Bafana Coach Hugo Broos named to face Morocco in the African Cup Of Nation (AFCON) qualifier match at FNB Stadium next month.
Both teams have qualified for this continental tournament which will be held in Ivory Coast on 13 January to 11 February 2024. No Kaizer Chiefs players are in the squad after a disappointing 2022/2023 season. No one can fault Broos considering Chiefs’ performance toward the end of the season losing their last three games including being knocked out of the Nedbank Cup semi-final by their arch-rivals Orlando Pirates.
They lost both their last three games of the season against, Morok Swallows, SuperSport United, and Cape Town City.
