Unresponsive patient resuscitated following a motorcycle accident

VEREENIGING. – An unresponsive patient was resuscitated following a motorcycle accident on the R82 opposite Kopanong Hospital on Saturday night.

Cert SA was called to the scene around 20h56 and on arrival at the accident scene found the male patient lying on the ground.

Cert SA says: “Upon arrival, we found a male patient lying on the road, unresponsive. The patient was assessed and found to have severe head trauma. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) was initiated, and Advanced Life Support (ALS) intervention was given by ER24.

“The patient was resuscitated for around 10 minutes when we got a pulse back. The patient was transported to a nearby hospital in a critical condition.”
