Mother and son killed in alleged hit-and-run on the Golden Highway

Fihla states that a culpable homicide and hit-and-run case docket will be launched at Orange Farm SAPS for further investigation.

ORANGE FARM. – The police in Orange Farm are investigating a fatal crash involving a motor vehicle and two pedestrians. The incident happened on Monday, 31 July along the Golden Highway.

Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) spokesperson Xolani Fihla reports that JMPD officers attended the incident that occurred at about 05h10 in the morning.

Fihla says: “It is alleged that the vehicle was traveling south on the Golden Highway when it collided with the two pedestrians.

“One female and one male pedestrian alleged to be mother and son were declared deceased on the scene, and the vehicle which collided with the pedestrians failed to stop at the accident scene.”

Fihla states that a culpable homicide and hit-and-run case docket will be launched at Orange Farm SAPS for further investigation.
