MLM Mayor and his MMC’s commemorate Women’s Day

The municipality celebrated Women’s Day by engaging with six female entrepreneurs.

MIDVAAL.- The Executive Mayor of Midvaal Local Municipality (MLM), Alderman Peter Teixeira, and the Members of the Midvaal Municipality Mayoral Committee (MMC’s) celebrated Women’s Day, on Wednesday, by engaging with six female entrepreneurs.

The event was held at the Ligkuns Photography Studio and Arts Gallery, Meyerton. The meeting largely focused on the Mayoral priority to grow the local economy and to identify collaborative opportunities. The MLM said that this aligns with its goals of economic growth and development within the region.

Teixeira acknowledged the entrepreneurs for the contribution they make to the local economy and their role in creating job opportunities for Midvaal residents.  A walk-about subsequently followed the meeting in Loch Street, where Teixeira and the MMCs extended heartfelt gestures by presenting roses to female residents.

“As an administration, we recognize the important role that women play in our society and will continue to advocate for women’s socio-economic rights and empowerment to achieve gender equality.”
