BOPHELONG. – The family of 28-year-old Faith Hlongwane from Bophelong says they have unanswered questions regarding what happened on the day she was brutally murdered. The incident happened on the morning of Saturday, 19 August.
Faith’s lifeless body was found just mere meters from her home. It is alleged that Faith was stabbed by another woman, who was allegedly fighting with her boyfriend.
Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, Faith’s brother France Hlongwane said he last saw his siter on Friday. France says he was alerted about a body of a female that was found on the street and when he went, he found his sister’s lifeless body lying on the ground.
“She went out with her friends on Friday and we are told that they were chilling at a pub just a street away from our home. They later moved to another house and that is where the incident happened.
“We hear that a fight broke out between a couple that was with them and she was stabbed by the woman that was fighting with her lover. We want answers because we have been hearing different stories and we need the truth.”
Another brother, John Koso said the family is devastated by how Faith was killed. “All we want is for justice to be served and the person responsible to be brought to book,” Koso said.
Sedibeng Ster was told that two other people were stabbed during the brawl.
Police spokesperson Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi confirmed that a murder case docket is open for investigation.
Nevhuhulwi said a 21-year-old woman was arrested and made an appearance in court on 21 August.
