Miss Mandela Day serves community

Giving the little that you have means a lot to someone’s life.

SHARPEVILLE. – A local beauty pageant winner is fulfilling the promises she made, those of serving the community after she won the Miss Mandela Day competition this year.

Dieketso Moorosi, a resident of Phase 1 in Sharpeville donated clothes and food to local children in Phase 1 and further went to Phase 3 at Jehova Niss family Church, where she did likewise. Moorosi said that she felt good inside after practicing what she has always believed in.

“Blessed is the hand that gives, than the one that (always) receives.”

After winning the Miss Mandela Day pageant earlier this year at the Eldorado Hall in Sebokeng, Moorosi entered the Miss Spring competition last week and won, in the category of ‘Best Creativity’ in 2023.

“Giving the little that you have means a lot to someone’s life, that is what I learned today. I have also learned that we take things for granted, yet they mean a lot to the next person. Today was a great experience for me, putting a smile on those kids’ cute faces.”
