BOIPATONG – Gauteng Education MEC Matome Chiloane on Tuesday, 26 September, launched Jet Nteo Commerce and Entrepreneurship School of Specialisation (SoS) with a focus on Tourism and Hospitality.
Different dignities descended to the school in the heart of Boipatong, one of the kasis that has witnessed one of the three bloody massacres of the region.
Just last year, MEC Chiloane as a Portfolio Chairperson led the festivities of converting Dr. Oliphant Molefi Secondary School in Bophelong to an SOS.

According to the MEC, Schools of Specialisation seek to nurture talent in South Africa, across key disciplines, developing the country’s future generation of leaders.
Jet Nteo SoS is the first Entrepreneurship School in the Emfuleni Municipality and the 28th School of Specialisation.
Speaking at the event, ELM Mayor Sipho Radebe said they expect a 100% pass rate from the school since it’s an advantage compared to other schools in the community.

Mayor Sipho Radebe said “This is the second School of Specialisation that we are receiving in the region under the leadership of MEC Matome Chiloane. As we open this school, we are giving hope to the massacre victims that at least something good is coming from this area. We want to say to the people of Boipatong, that we urge you to take care of this school. Through this school, residents and children of Emfuleni will benefit from this school.”
Nteo Family representative, said he was honoured and wished his family experienced the launch.
“I am truly honoured to be part of such greatness and wish my father was still alive to see and honour and celebrate this wonderful honorary work. I want to thank MEC Chiloane and everyone who came out to be part of this event,” he said.
A play to honour the victims and survivors of the Boipatong massacre was rendered before the MEC ascended the stage to deliver a keynote address.
MEC Chiloane said “It is an honour that the school’s launch coincides with the history of this community and this school talks about that. It is a great honour to have chosen this school for a relaunch.”
“Schools of Specialisation are high-performing schools, and parents must flock here and demand their kids to be enrolled at this school. Schools we launch in different areas, speak to the economic matters. This is how we fact in when we choose how an SOS is identified and launched. SOS are the solution to the issues faced by the community,” he said.
