Sedibeng cluster police awards recognize commitment and collaboration

Major General Lemba expressed her pride in the outstanding work performed by her officers during her tenure, spanning three months in office.

VANDERBIJLPARK – The Sedibeng Cluster police recently gathered at the Emerald Casino in Vanderbijlpark for a prestigious event dedicated to honouring the dedicated officers who have gone above and beyond in their duty to serve the community.

Dressed in their finest evening gowns and sharp suits, officers from across the district congregated to celebrate their achievements.

The ceremony was attended by a distinguished guest, District Commissioner Major General Nkhensani Lemba, who addressed the gathering and emphasized the significance of the occasion.

Major General Lemba expressed her pride in the outstanding work performed by her officers during her tenure, spanning three months in office.

She also commended their unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety of the people of Sedibeng, acknowledging the difficult and challenging nature of police work.

“In the district commissioners’ category, I will be honouring individuals who, in my three months being in office, have shown commitment and gone beyond the call of duty to ensure that the people of Sedibeng are safe,” Major General Lemba stated.

“Police work is not an easy job. It’s a difficult and daunting task and needs our communities working hand in hand with us.”

One of the standout recipients of the Commissioner’s category award was Assistant Manager Peter Kele, representing the Sedibeng Community Safety Department.

Kele expressed his joy at receiving the “Sedibeng District Saps Commissioner Excellent Prestigious Award.

“It means a lot to me as an individual representing Sedibeng District Municipality Community Safety department,” said Kele.

“To be honest with you, I am really happy to be amongst the most important and honoured hard-working people to be recognized for the Best Stakeholders Relationship and Long-Standing Partnership. This award symbolizes hard work, dedication, perseverance, and commitment to the South African Police Services in the District of Sedibeng,” he said.

Kele added that this was the first time in the history of the Sedibeng District Saps that stakeholders and partners of the South African Police Services were awarded and recognized.

“It has never happened before during the past 10 years of other District Commissioners,” he said.

He further praised Major General Lemba’s approach and commitment, which has underlined the vital role of stakeholders in preventing and reducing crime.
