SHARPEVILLE.- The Mohloli Secondary School former students known as Mohloli Pioneers celebrated their 48th Anniversary at Steel Park Lapa in Vereeniging on Saturday.
The school was founded in 1975 and some of these Mohloli Pioneers were the first group of students who couldn’t be accommodated at the overflowing Leko Shandu High School by then. Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, one of the school founder students, Terence Phale said in the first nine months of 1975 they were attending classes at Titima Primary School and that the school had three grades by then but today the school is one of the best in Sedibeng both academically and sports wise.

Phale said the first-anniversary celebration was started by a group of pioneer students in 2015 when the school was turning 40 years old.

“There is a lot of history to tell about the formation of the school and I’m happy because some of us are still here to tell the story of how it all started. During the 40th Anniversary, a plaque was erected on the school premises. Since then we have been celebrating annual anniversaries as a build-up towards a much anticipated 50th Anniversary in 2025,” he told Sedibeng Ster.
