Early Christmas present for Gogo Malokase

They are hoping to finish the house before the festive season so that Gogo and her grandchildren can spend their holidays in a better environment.

SHARPEVILLE.- Christmas has come early for Gogo Alice Malokase as the Sello Sehanka Foundation in conjunction with Vaal Echoes of Love recently joined hands to help her.

The two organisations kept their promise when they extended a two-room house of Gogo Malokase in Vuka Section. Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, Lindiwe Mokoena from Vaal Echoes of Love said that they identified Gogo Malokasi back in 2018 when they distributed food parcels for the elderly people in the area.

Mokoena further told Sedibeng Ster that the reason they decided to extend Gogo Malokase’s house is because she stays in a two-room house with her five great-grandchildren.

”We experienced Gogo Malokase’s situation when we were distributing food parcels in the community. This is not the kind of condition that any human being can live in. To make it worse, she sleeps in the dining room while her five great-grandchildren have to share a bedroom.

“It is not good for a person of her age to sleep in the dining room especially when it is cold like now. As the Sello Sehanka Foundation and the Vaal Echoes of Love, we made a commitment to extend the house with two more rooms to make the situation better for her and her grandchildren. We are busy with this project as we speak, it is work in progress,” she said.

Mokoena told Sedibeng Ster that they are hoping to finish the house before the festive season so that Gogo and her grandchildren can spend their holidays in a better environment.
