JOHANNESBURG.- Boxer Superstores took home a number of awards at the coveted W&R Seta Awards held recently in Johannesburg.

The glamorous awards, hosted annually by the renowned Skills Development entity, are a nod of appreciation and recognition to organisations including wholesale and retail companies, training providers, institutions of learning, and beneficiaries of SETA’s programmes who have made a massive impact in the wholesale and retail sector, the community and the country as a whole.

Boxer Superstores’ Head Office, which is based in Westville, KZN, scooped up a number of awards including the much sought-after Best Woman in Leadership, won by Ntombi Dludla, Group Executive: Stakeholder Engagement and Sustainability.

“I am incredibly humbled to receive this award, along with my peers at Boxer. We are a business defined by our culture towards each other, and our customers, and we work hard to build, motivate, upskill, and manufacture careers and futures for all who work at Boxer. It’s always been this way, and these awards are a great nod to our collective efforts as South Africa’s favourite discount supermarket,” said Dludla.

In addition, Boxer’s Caroline Ramudingana,  Joseph Ledwaba, and Hlengiwe Qwabe took home awards in the ‘Learners with Disabilities’ category while in the Learner’s NQF level 4 & 5 Category  Dikeledi Mathobisa, Ntomzanelo Sarah Maqena and Yasheeka Gyanath placed first, second and third respectively. To add to those awards, Boxer also won Best Super Large Retailer and Best Innovation Programme.

“The students who won and placed are remarkable team members with a massive future ahead of them, they are seen by their peers as leaders and an inspiration and we are truly proud of their efforts. To also take home awards for Best Super Large Retailer and the Best Innovation Programme, for our work in the small-scale farming arena is the absolute cherry on top,” said Boxer Group Executive for Human Resources, Ian Bamber.
