BOIPATONG. – The police in Boipatong were all smiles recently when they celebrated being ranked the number one station with a high success rate of cases for the month of October for the Detectives.
The station commander for Boipatong SAPS, Lieutenant Colonel Puleng Mokoena congratulated the members for their hard work and urged them to keep on working hard and being consistent in serving their communities.
“Our officers have been hard at work working on various cases and at times getting successful convictions for the cases. It is through their hard work that our station was ranked number one for the month of October out of over 140 stations across the Gauteng Province.”
Captain Mokgotu said that the Detectives work very hard on cases and that is why they have a high success rate.
“Unfortunately, the Detectives do not always get their desired convictions from court but this should not deter them. They should continue to do their best in ensuring that our communities get the justice they deserve.”
Mokgotu said that the biggest issue in Boipatong was that of assault cases where communities get into fights after visiting places of entertainment.
“These cases are very complicated as complainants sometimes drop the cases after speaking to the perpetrators, It is not that police don’t work on these cases, most of them are dropped through mediation.”
Talking about plans for the festive season, Mokoena said that there will be more boots on the ground during the festive season.
“We will be working together with the various law enforcement to ensure that the festive season is safe for all our residents. We will also be patrolling various hot spot areas.”
