Sharpeville. – Popular Radio Journalist Oupa Sefatsa (53) continues to be an inspiration to young people through the stories he curates.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, Sefatsa explains that his love for helping people and uplifting the community he lives in led him on a path to becoming one of Vaal’s most recognized Radio Journalists.
“I got into Radio in the early 80’s and was fortunate enough to be granted the opportunity to work at Lesedi FM. My radio career was kicked off by my love for writing into radio and that is how my first radio gig came about.”
Sefatsa says the platform has not only allowed him to inform and educate his community, but it has also given him the gratification of helping those in need.
“My job entails visiting families and ensuring that their stories are heard. Through these stories, families get the help they need and the community also gets educated about matters of importance in the community.”
Sefatsa says that he is happy that he has been able to change people’s lives through some of the stories he covered.
Speaking to those who look up to him, Sefatsa urges young people to work hard, and diligently and to not be afraid to knock on doors and ask for opportunities.
“Young people must follow their passion and not put money first. They should invest in their dreams and trust that their hard work will pay off in the end.”
