SEDIBENG.- The Emfuleni Local Football Association’s (ELFA) Super League is set to kick off at the end of the month for the 2023/2024 season.
This was announced by the association’s Competition Convener, Oupa Tladinyane at a meeting held at Saul Tsotetsi Sports Complex in Zone 14, Sebokeng over the weekend. The deadline for all the teams to pay their participation fee is on Friday.
Tladinyane said they extended the deadline until Friday for those teams who are behind with their affiliation fee. Like all these seasons the Super League will be divided into three streams namely, Evaton, Sebokeng, and Boitshepiville with the winners in each stream pitted against each other to produce the overall winner that will represent Emfuleni at the Regional Play-Offs for promotion to SAB League.
When addressing the teams Tladinyane said the league was supposed to have started at this time of the year but because some of the teams are still behind in payment, the kick-off date is the weekend of January 27 and 28.
“We are behind schedule in terms of kick-off because last year at this time the league was already started. We gave the teams until Friday to affiliate and submit the players’ registration forms,” said Tladinyane.
