Police do client follow-ups

The campaign was aimed at "checking" domestic violence victims.

VAAL MARINA.- The Vaal Marina SAPS’ Social Crime Prevention and Agape Lerato Community Services’ Auxiliary Social Worker conducted a ‘DOOR to DOOR’ awareness campaign in the Mamello informal Settlement this week.

The campaign was aimed at “checking” domestic violence victims, and how they are coping after being assisted in different ways that include counseling, protection orders, family interventions, children cases, and psycho-social support.

“Domestic violence is the major problem in our area at Mamello because of the high rate of unemployment, school dropouts, and alcohol abuse. Pamphlets on domestic violence and gender-based violence were also distributed,” said Police spokesperson, Constable Tshilidzi De Huis.
