VANDERBIJLPARK. – Mami Mocoancoeng is a Mrs South Africa’s semifinalist.
The Vanderbijlpark-based mother, model, lecturer, and businesswoman auditioned online on the Mrs South Africa website for this year’s pageant and was shortlisted.
Now looking forward to branding herself and acquiring more wisdom through her journey the 33-year-old hopes for the best.
This pageant offers married women an acclaimed self-discovery programme that aims to celebrate and further develop the skills of strong, talented, and confident female leaders.
Mrs. South Africa recognises the value of marriage and the essence of being a woman.
The program was created for married women who would ordinarily not have such a platform to compete and be ambassadors for South Africa, on a global scale.
Speaking to Ster South, Mocoancoeng explained what interested her in entering the pageant.
Playing a vital role in her student’s lives, her models, and her community at large, Mocoancoeng said she wants to lead by example.
“When I was first employed at Sedibeng College as a lecturer, naturally my only role was to teach. But I always knew that was not enough. I need to impact lives hence I contributed by coaching netball, and conducting a wellness
commitment which maintains student involvement and upliftment at the campus,” she added.
“I feel the need to be on a bigger stage. A national stage to reach out to young people besides my students and models. I believe I still have so many other lives to touch, to teach, to develop, and to shape,” she said.
Mocoancoeng said being a Mrs SA’s semifinalist will open doors for her and instill faith on those who look up to her.
“Mrs South Africa is the perfect platform to lead by example, to show young people that if you have unshakeable faith in your dreams and talents, anything is possible. I’m so happy because I know this is the beginning of the rest of my life, and not just my life but the life of my students, models, and the community at large”.
“I’m Looking up to learning from the best in the industry and instilling that knowledge back into my people. I’m looking forward to the partnerships
I will be making, hoping that I represent them well. And most of all I’m hoping to be crowned Mrs South Africa 2024,” she said.
