‘We dance for hustling’: Suping and Mdlalose
“As young people, it is difficult to find jobs and we use our talent to put food on the table."
ORANGE FARMS.- Kagiso Suping (20) and Nomgqibelo Mdlalose (25) say that dancing is part of their ‘hustling’.
Sedibeng Ster has spotted the two youngsters dancing pantsula jive for the motorist at the robots in Vanderbijlpark on weekends. The pair told Sedibeng Ster that circumstances have forced them to use their ‘talent’ to survive.

They dance for motorists while the robots are closed with the hope that they will give them something. Some gave them money while others gave them food. Suping and Mdlalose said they traveled from Orange Farms to come to the towns of Vereeniging and Vanderbijlpark to hustle, in the form of dancing.
“As young people, it is difficult to find jobs and we use our talent to put food on the table. We are forced by circumstances to end up here. We decided to use our talent to change our situation to avoid being involved in crime.”

“We hope someone will see our potential and help us to make a career out of this pantsula dancing. It is not easy but at least at the end of the day, we go home with something even though it is not enough. Our prayer is for someone to see our talent and take it further or recommend us to people who can help us,” they told Sedibeng Ster.
Mdlalose told Sedibeng Ster that she was forced to drop out of school after she struggled to get an ID.
