VANDERBIJLPARK. – Loving one’s self is just as important as loving others. This was the message imparted to women in blue from all over the Gauteng province recently as they celebrated the month of love.
The event took place at Kgalala Palace in Vanderbijlpark on Friday, February 16. The women came together with the purpose of celebrating as well as giving back to the community through collection of Sanitary pads from each of the attendees.
Woman Network Champion and Ekurhuleni District Commissioner, Major General Anna Sithole highlighted the importance of members showing love to the communities they serve through the work they do.

“It is important for our embers to continue to show their passion for their work in how they handle and resolve problems members of the community are faced with. They must never criticize complainants, but they should continue to treat them with the utmost respect and love.”
Sithole said that it is important to always remember that they need members of the community to carry out their duties.
Sedibeng District Police Commissioner Major General Nkhensani Lemba said the month of love should not only be celebrated lovers but should be about showing love to one another.
Talking about the sanitary pads drive, Lemba said the that all proceeds would be donated to young girls at a high school in Boipatong. Lemba further emphasised the importance of having fun and letting go.
“Our female officers are often faced with difficult cases that they have to work hard on. It was very good for them to get some time away from work in order to unwind and spend time with their colleagues.”
